So Clever

This is a lovely game? I'm not entirely sure it's a game as much as it is an interactive flash because usually games have a purpose. This seems more like a proof of concept or simply as others have said a great beginning of a game. Without any purpose, it can become quickly tiring, especially once one has figured out the dynamics and how to really make things happen the way they want.

Since there were no goals, I made my goal to keep the cell size very small and that made it entertaining for a good long time.

This is some great work and I think you could have something AMAZING if you build on this. Good luck!

I'm glad you enjoyed having a screen full of dwarf cells, Spectre =P

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'd classify it as myself. Really at this stage, it's a 0 player game at heart. Of course, the community is demanding that it evolves (pun intended) to a 1 player game and thus I am working out how to mutate it over.

Seems pointless.

It's a halfway good game. The art isn't bad and the premise is ok, I just don't know why I'm taking the path of least resistance to go shoot some guy over and over. Maybe if that were explained it'd be more enjoyable, but for me, it just didn't entertain enough. Sorry for the poor vote.

Lacking

Like others have said, good concept. I like the idea but I can think of a couple things that would greatly improve it. First, the presence of the lower B key is misleading since it doesn't work. The keyboard could be a little wider, it's not that hard to click things with a mouse. In my opinion, the best change would be to link the notes to keys. If you want it to be a learning experience, I'd suggest making B b and C c and so on, but if you want it to simply be fun, I'd use a row of keys and make the flats the row above or below that. Nice thinking and good job.

Clever

I like this game a lot, however, it tried my patience as I'm sure it was intended to. I thought the premise was clever and the remarks within the game such as "this box is a trap, so is this one" were quite funny. I noticed that spike-boxes were distinguishable often from regular boxes because they seem to overlap the others. Was this intentional? The music did get monotonous, but I'm glad you included a way to turn it off. A longer loop would have been nice. Other than that and the jump and direction keys not working at the same time on occasion, a very good game.

Quite Nice!

I didn't finish the game or anything, but I love it. It's a great concept and great to play if you have the intellect and some patience. I love these kind of puzzles, essentially ones that screw with your mind, such as Portal. Good stuff, good work.

It's ok.

I probably wouldn't play it again, but for the first time it was pretty decent. Overall, it's not a bad game, but then again I wasn't able to make it very far. I got to the dark tunnel, and I activated the map by accident. It would not let me leave map mode, nor activate night vision, so consequentially, I died. I'd also like to see a bit more color and variety and I'm not sure exactly how long I would enjoy walking in a straight line shooting things that I can hardly see.

1 button is 3?

This is an amazing game. I used to play tetris a ridiculous amount, causing me to occasionally dream I was playing tetris. This game would have been nearly as addictive except for a couple things that seriously hindered my enjoyment.

While the circularity was tricky, it was very possible, and even the inverted shapes became normal to my perception, I could not get used to the way the buttons didn't work. Pressing control one time flipped the shape anywhere between 1 and 3 times and made it somewhat unpredictable and impossible ultimately. Also, the direction keys occasionally didn't respond, me having to press them 2 times to make it move one square over.

This last thing isn't a complaint, but in the original tetris I was familiar with, the rotation key was the up arrow and it doesn't seem to me that the up arrow is useful in this version, so why not make the up arrow rotate the shape?

Other than this, the worst thing is the inability to turn off the sound.

Also, the text for the title page doesn't all fit within the defined window size neither horizontally nor vertically.

With a bit of clean up, this game could be amazing, almost as revolutionary as the original tetris. I can definitely see why this made the front page.

Thanks for creating this.

Didnt work.

It didn't run. It loaded and was just a gradient. I selected play and it made tons of noise at me, sped through all the questions and gave me a 0. I'm sure otherwise it would have been kinda cool, but maybe there's some kinda bug in the scripting.

Amazing

Great art, great concept and very clever. The gratuitous violence was much appreciated. It made the puzzle part of the game very rewarding. Even with tabbing it was at times tricky so great job my friend.

Calculator Game

For a calculator game it's well done. If you worked on your ideas instead of jacking other peoples', you could have something decent.
